Qs. Andrew Kituo Mbuku

A registered Quantity Surveyor specializing in Quantity Surveying, Project Management, Arbitration and Facilities Management. Has an unusual focus on facilitating and achieving institutional cohesion and consensus for the advancement of the strategic goals and objectives. Strongly and purposely upholds the virtues of teamwork, integrity, fairness, and accountability as guiding principles.

A graduate of the University of Nairobi in Building Economics and Masters in Construction Management, has professional experience in both public and private sectors. Has extensive experience in facilities and infrastructure design, development and management having worked for a private financial institution, government ministry, aviation industry, private consultancy and now a public learning institution, the University of Nairobi as the Director of Facility Management. He is also the founding Director of Cost & Value Management Consultants Ltd, a Quantity Surveying and Project Management firm.

Andrew, IQSK member no. 100, joined the institute as a student member in 1998 and upgraded to corporate (professional) membership in 2007. He has served IQSK council for four consecutive terms as a Council Member, Treasurer and currently as the Vice President.

Qs. Mutinda Josphat Mutuku

QS. Mutinda Mutuku, IQSK member no. 097 - a member of the institute for the last 25 years!

Mutinda has previously served with diligence and honour as a council member of the institute and as Honorary Secretary for two terms 2016 - 2020.

Mutinda is a family man, a Quantity Surveyor for the past 19 years and a practicing Arbitrator.

He holds a BA degree in Building economics from the University of Nairobi, a diploma in Risk Management from the Institute of Risk Management, London as well as Membership (MCIArb) of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, London.

Mutinda believed in the dream of the founding fathers (and mothers) of IQSK as a student in the University and has been a member in good standing since.

A firm believer in the mantra "Service above Self" Mutinda seeks your vote in the upcoming election to be your next President of the Institute 2024 - 2026.

Qs. Janet Chirchir

Janet has served as the Hon Registrar of IQSK and the Convener of the Membership and training committee from May 2020 to May 2024. She has also served in the HR Committee, among other ad hoc commitees in the institute.

She has over sixteen (16) years of post-registration experience with expertise in Project and Cost Management of major construction projects, including Commercial, Institutional, Residential, Interiors and Health Sectors. She has been working in the private sector throughout her career. Janet has been called upon severally by BORAQS to administer oral exams and also serve as a session chair during CPD seminars.

Qs. Rose Kotut

Qs Rose Jematya Kotut is a registered Quantity Surveyor. She works at the State Department of Public works (Ministry of Transport, Infrastructure, Public Works & Urban Development) as a Chief Superintending Quantity Surveyor.

She has a vast experience of 16 years in the construction industry both private and public sector.

QS. Rose is a holder of Master of Arts in Construction Management-UON, Bachelor of Arts in Building Economics from University of Nairobi. She is registered by the Board of Registration of Architects and Quantity Surveyors (BORAQS)- Q690, a professional member of the Institute of Quantity Surveyors of Kenya (IQSK) - Member no. 434.

She also has a Certificate of Strategic Leadership Development Programme (SLDP), and Senior Management Course (SMC) both from Kenya School of Government, a Certificate of International Leadership, Public Policy and Good Governance from National Institute Governance, Mossorie-India.

Qs Rose also sits at the Research & Publications Board of the Board of Registration of Architects and Quantity Surveyors (BORAQS) as member.

She is the current Assistant Honorary Secretary at the Institute of Quantity Surveyors of Kenya (2022-2024), the convenor of the Cost Indices Committee of IQSK and a member of the Membership and Training Committee of IQSK.

Qs. Jasan Wanyoike Njoroge (BQS (UON), BSC (hons) Applied Accounting- Oxford Brookes) is a registered and practicing Quantity Surveyor. He is a longstanding member of the Institute of Quantity Surveyors of Kenya (IQSK) since March 2012 and has served in various committees of the institute including the Office Purchase Project, Finance Committee and Editorial Committee. He is currently the Editor of The Quantity Surveyor Journal and the Chair of the Publications Committee that is spearheading the production of the journal and the Annual IQSK construction cost handbook that was relaunched in 2023 jointly with the State Department of Public Works and Kenya National Bureau of Statistics (KNBS).

Cynthia Moira Mulaku is a registered and practicing Quantity Surveyor and Project Manager.

She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying and is currently pursuing a Masters Degree in Construction Management at the University of Nairobi. She is a Professional Member of the Institute of Quantity Surveyors of Kenya and has served as a Council Member in the Institute for the past two years.

She has also served as the Chair of the Young Quantity Surveyors Forum, pioneering mentorship and training programmes, been part of various stakeholder forums and collaborated with various Young Quantity Surveyors Forums in Africa.

Additionally, she is also a tutor and mentor of students at various institutions offering courses in the Built Environment. QS. Reuben Nyakundi is an experienced, recognized and registered Quantity Surveyor (Q970) of high repute who has specialized in project management, quantity surveying and arbitration in the construction industry. He is currently working with the County Government of Kisii - Department of Infrastructure, Roads and Public works as a senior Principal superintending Quantity Surveyor and director public works.

He previously worked in the Ministry of State for Defense (KDF) for six years as an assistant quantity surveyor Projects and Planning Branch Thika Engineers Brigade before resigning to join private sector and later transitioning to County Government.
